Our Story
The origins of Zamil Group can be traced back to the small agricultural town of Onaiza in the Central Region of Saudi Arabia, where our founder Sheikh Abdullah Al-Hamad Al Zamil was born (1897 – 1961). An aspiring businessman, he operated his first commercial business in Bahrain at the age of 19. By the 1920s he had established a successful trading entity in the Kingdom of Bahrain. His successes were followed by investments in real estate, and in 1959 to the construction of the tallest building of its time in Al Khobar in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Zamil Operations & Maintenance
established in 1977as a leading provider of operations and maintenance services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
1980
Zamil Plastics
Established in 1980 and acquired as a wholly owned company in 1988, Zamil Plastics manufactures a wide range of plastic packaging products such as industrial crates, engineering products and food packs for a wide range of sectors throughout the Middle East.
1982
Arabian Gulf Construction (AGC)
was established in 1982 as a Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Construction and Contracting Company.
1983
Zamil Industrial Coatings (ZINDCO)
is established to manufacture specialized coatings for the construction industry.
1998
Zamil Industrial Investment Company
converts to a Joint Stock Company becoming the first family company in Saudi Arabia to be listed on ‘Tadawul’, Saudi Arabia’s stock exchange in 2002.
1999
Sipchem
is founded and converted to a Closed Joint Stock Company, and in 2006, is listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange.
